Petra Tötterman Andorff new Secretary General of The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation

Petra Tötterman Andorff is the new Secretary General of The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation. She has been the deputy Secretary General for the organization since December 2017 when Lena Ag left the position to become Director-General for The Swedish Gender Equality Agency.

– I feel so honored to have been entrusted with this role. I am already well acquainted with the organisation and know they do tremendously important work, says Petra Tötterman Andorff.

Petra Tötterman Andorff has a profound experience of working with women´s rights. She took on the position as Deputy Secretary General at The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation in 2014. Previously she was Secretary General of the Swedish branch of Women´s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) and also international coordinator at WILPF in New York.

– We are grateful that Petra Tötterman Andorff want to be the head of the organization. She is familiar with The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation and the challenges that women human rights defenders are facing globally, says chairman of the board, Birgit Hansson.

Birgit Hansson also stresses the fact that the appointment is the result of a long and thorough process.

– There has been quite a competition, but the board sees Petra as the superior choice.

The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation is a Swedish women´s rights organization supporting women in times of war and conflict. The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation is present in more than 20 countries worldwide and celebrates its 25th year.

– The way I see it, The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation will remain one of the leading organizations in the world for women´s rights in conflict affected areas. In these times, there is a great need for supporting women´s rights worldwide, says Petra Tötterman Andorff, who will start her assignment June 1st.
